BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Lendlease has joined NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in celebrating the hospital’s opening of its new Center for Community Health, a state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility in Park Slope. The venue was designed by Perkins Eastman and is pursuing a LEED Silver rating.
Constructed from the ground up by Lendlease, the 400,000-square-foot facility houses 12 operating rooms for ambulatory surgery, a surgical prep and recovery space, a central sterile services department, a cancer center with a compounding pharmacy, and a pre-anesthesia evaluation area. The Center for Community Health also features state-of-the-art suites for gastroenterology and endoscopy, multispecialty medical and surgical services, and a diagnostic imaging center that includes PET-CT and MRI modalities. It has a valet-staffed parking facility, a grab-and-go cafe, a conference center, comfortable sky lobby waiting areas and staff dedicated to helping patients and visitors navigate the building.
“Lendlease is proud of its collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and grateful for the opportunity to apply a unique approach to building healthcare facilities, one that prioritizes health and safety, as well as technology-enabled efficiency and sustainability,” said Lendlease Americas Principal in Charge of Healthcare Rich Steimel. “Creating places that provide high-quality, patient-centered care has never been more crucial, and we look forward to seeing the benefits this facility will bring for Brooklyn residents.”
