MOB to Top Off $350 Million Louisiana Replacement Hospital

BATON ROUGE, La. — A $40 million, 250,000-square-foot medical office building will be constructed on the campus of the new $350 million Women’s Hospital replacement facility in Baton Rouge. Lillibridge Healthcare Services is the developer, architect, space-planner and construction manager on the job, according to reports.

The new MOB will be connected physically to the Women’s Hospital and will offer a comprehensive breast center, a maternal-fetal medicine center, infrastructure for an ambulatory surgery center, retail space and other potential outpatient services, reports say. The MOB will consist of two towers – four and five stories, respectively – with a shared atrium lobby. Target completion for the MOB is in late 2012.

"Lillibridge has a distinguished track record of working with not-for-profit hospitals and health systems to expand healthcare in communities all around the country," says. "The Woman’s Hospital project demonstrates how Lillibridge uses healthcare real estate expertise to enable our clients to achieve their strategic objectives," says Todd W. Lillibridge, chairman and CEO of Lillibridge, and executive vice president of Ventas Inc.’s MOB division.

Ventas acquired Lillibridge and its 95 MOB assets in July. With the Lillibridge acquisition, Ventas now owns now owns or manages 154 MOBs with 8.4 million square feet in 20 states, including the District of Columbia. The deal was structured to allow Lillibridge management at 24 of Ventas medical facilities.
