Fraunhofer, Boston University develop plant-based vaccine factory

( Boston University College of Engineering ) This technology takes a biological process — using bioengineering to produce vaccines from plants — and makes it an industrial process. An automated robotic factory grows, nurtures and harvests plants engineered to produce specific proteins for specific vaccines, enabling fast response to disease outbreaks.
