Joyce Polhamus

SmithGroupJJR has elected Joyce Polhamus, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, EDAC, to its board of directors. Polhamus is co-leader of the firm’s San Francisco Health Studio. During her 18 years with SmithGroupJJR, Polhamus has led a number of health care projects, including campus and interior master plans, renovations and new facilities for ambulatory, acute and post-acute care. Polhamus has an active leadership role in several significant health care projects for providers in northern California, including Marin General Hospital and Sutter Health’s California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Van Ness and Geary campus. She is a LEED-accredited professional and received evidence-based design accreditation and certification from The Center for Health Design. Past chair of the American Institute of Architect’s Design for Aging Knowledge Community, Polhamus earned a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from the University of California-Berkeley.
