Ellerbe Named Architect for $150 Million Project
CINCINNATI — International architectural firm Ellerbe Becket was named lead design architect for a new $150 million hospital planned for a 60-acre parcel on Cincinnati’s west side.
The firm will partner with Champlin Architecture, based in Cincinnati, to design the new hospital for Mercy Health Partners. The hospital will house comprehensive healthcare services, including heart and cancer, according to Ellerbe. An emphasis will be put on operational efficiency, future flexibility and safety, comfort and privacy for patients.
“To design a hospital that reflects the aspirations of the community will be as important as making sure that its planning supports a model of cutting-edge healthcare,” says Mic Johnson, design principal at Ellerbe. “We look forward to collaborating with Champlin Architecture and Mercy Stakeholders to arrive at the right balance.”
