Irvin E. Richter, who founded Philadelphia-based Hill International in 1976, has resigned from his role of chairman of the company’s board of directors. He will continue to serve as a member of the board and has also been given the title of chairman emeritus. He previously served as the chief executive officer of Hill International from 1976 to 2014. Richter is a fellow of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and a member of the World Presidents’ Organization. He is the author of several books including, Handbook of Construction Law & Claims and International Construction Claims: Avoiding and Resolving Disputes. He specializes in project management and construction claims.

Warren Hendrickson, public health director in HDR’s Chicago office, has been appointed to the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) Global Health Committee. An active member of APHL for many years, this appointment reflects Hendrikson’s long-standing commitment to understanding and addressing global health issues through the assessment, planning and design of public health laboratories around the world. Notably, he spearheaded HDR’s “One Health” initiative, which promotes collaboration with private and public sector organizations to establish front-line laboratories and clinics at the epicenter of disease through global health projects. Founded more than 60 years ago, the APHL has a core mission to “shape national and global health outcomes by promoting the value and contributions of public health laboratories and continuously improving the public health laboratory system and practice.” Its work in global health spans 31 countries and five continents, where the organization provides services related to strategy, technology, technical assistance and training.

He was part of an eight-person team from Penn State that recently competed in the 2016 Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) Student Design Competition finals held in Worcester, Mass., winning awards for innovation in integration as well as construction management and development. He is currently working on an expansion project at Mount Nittany Health — Mifflin County, located in Reedsville, Pa., and a boiler room addition at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pa.

Kristine A. Harding, NCARB, AIA, was recently inaugurated as the 97th president of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). In this new role, Harding architect will lead NCARB and its 54 U.S. licensing boards, which serve more than 40,000 NCARB certified architects and 41,000 licensure candidates. As president, Harding will focus on implementing NCARB’s new experience and examination programs, enhancing benefits to the NCARB Certificate, and streamlining the path to licensure. Harding was first appointed to the Alabama Board for Registration of Architects in 2004, where she served as chair from 2008 to 2009 and continues to serve on the board. In 2011, she was elected to the NCARB Board of Directors to represent the Southern Conference. As vice president and group manager of the Huntsville, Ala., office of the KPS Group, Harding provides architecture, interior design and planning services throughout the southeast.
